“There are few experiences more rewarding than witnessing a parent or guardian discover their power in a system that often appears too overwhelming to navigate alone. Furthermore, this empowerment typically spills onto students as a result of their parent or guardian’s developed confidence, which is incredibly fulfilling for all involved.”

Francesca Korbas, Esq.
Director of Educational Advocacy
Vested Advocates

Determined to create a more effective and less adversarial practice, Francesca co-founded Vested Advocates—an educational advocacy firm devoted to empowering parents navigating the special education, IEP, and 504 Plan processes. Here, she and her team of educational advocates currently provide private consulting and non-legal representation to parents, students, and families.

With a background in mediation, Francesca offers her clients a rare combination of legal knowledge, warmth, and professionalism. As an undergraduate student at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Francesca worked as an educator at the school’s Disability Services Center as well as for Upward Bound. While earning her graduate degree at Suffolk University Law School, she worked at the Children’s Law Center of Massachusetts and served as a Youth Permanency Coordinator at the Department of Children and Families. These experiences not only laid the groundwork for her future career in student advocacy but also facilitated the development of her tactful approach to resolving education-related conflicts.

When she’s not advocating for children and families, Francesca loves painting, traveling, and spending time with her two spirited young daughters, husband, and their giant Bernese Mountain Dog, Ravioli.
